Diversity Benchmarking Toolkit
EDIB Resources
Measuring workforce diversity isn’t common practice in Canada’s tech sector – yet. We’re on a mission to change that by providing the sector with tools, resources and community support to measure workforce diversity and increase the representation of equity-deserving groups.
To determine the success of any equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging initiative, you first need to know your starting point and your goal. Establishing a benchmark tells an organization where it is starting from. Ongoing measurement shows whether goals are being met.
Our Diversity Benchmarking Toolkit helps organizations lay the foundation for their EDIB programs, by supporting them in measuring their workforce diversity and tracking progress over time.
We encourage all companies to track their workforce diversity. Organizations can drill down and identify gaps and inequities that may not be apparent at first glance. For example, a company might find that while their team is gender balanced, all administrative roles are filled by women and all leadership roles by men. By measuring diversity, they can analyze the data to course correct or double down on initiatives that seem to be working well.
The resources below will help your team in measuring and benchmarking diversity in your workplace.
Measure your organization’s diversity and help us collectively measure industry-wide diversity!
TAP Network gathers data on the representation of equity-deserving groups within tech to report the current representation of women, indigenous peoples, people with disabilities, people of colour, and individuals who identify as 2SLGBTQIA+ and measure year-over-year industry-wide progress.
In order to achieve this, we ask you, our members, to collect diversity data from your employees and submit this demographic data confidentially with your annual salary survey submission. Data will be reported, in aggregate, in our annual Diversity in Tech Dashboard report.
Doing this will also provide your organization with valuable data on your diversity!
